Līgo flag

The Līgo flag is the most important symbol of the Latvian Song and Dance Celebration. Since the very first festival in 1873, the Līgo flag has been carried at the front of the Song Celebration’s opening procession. The original flag is kept in a museum collection because of it’s very fragile state and requires careful preservation, therefore, this flag in the Dziesmusvētku telpa exhibition is a delicately crafted replica that I worked on with Inese and Ivars Mailītis.
